TERRE HAUTE —
Rustin Douglas McIntosh D.V.M., 68, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away Friday morning Dec. 21, 2012. He was born Jan. 23, 1944. He was born to Dr. Wilbert and Betty (Redifer) McIntosh.
He attended Riley School, Gerstmeyer High School, and graduated from Purdue University after serving in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Okinawa, where he met and married his wife Hatsumi Nishiarata McIntosh.
He is survived by his wife Hatsumi McIntosh, of New York; two sons, Chester McIntosh of New York, and Brett (Chandra) McIntosh of Indianapolis; daughter, Lela (Orely) Morales of Miama, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Douglas, Riley, Chloe, and Cadhla. He also is survived by his mother, Betty McIntosh, of Terre Haute; brother, William (Judi) McIntosh of Sparks, La.; sisters, Trudy (David) Cooper and Brenda (Randy) Rector, all of Terre Haute. He leaves behind a loving extended family including several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Russ cherished his family and enjoyed his equine veterinary practice with many close friends of the Long Island, N.Y., area. He was actively involved with his children’s soccer careers and his own teams into the Senior division league. His loved ones will honor his memory, holding his love close in their hearts and living their lives by values shared.
His family and friends will hold a celebration of his life at the home of Dave and Trudy Cooper, 9000 South Daniels St., Terre Haute, IN 47802, on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
