TERRE HAUTE — Corey John Creason, 27, of Terre Haute, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at 10:22 a.m. He was born in Terre Haute, on July 11, 1984, to Geoff Creason and Sally French Creason. He worked as a correctional officer at the Federal Correctional Complex in Terre Haute and had previously been employed at the Vigo County Sheriff's Department.

He is survived by his wife Erin; and their daughter, Ava. Also surviving are his parents, Geoff and Sally Creason; brother and sister-in-law, Clayton and Sadie Creason and their daughters Karsyn and Kinley; grandparents, Jim and June Perkins, and Woodrow “Woody” Creason; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Maxine Creason; and maternal grandfather, John French.

Corey graduated from Terre Haute South Vigo High School in 2003, and attended Indiana State University to study construction management. Before going to be with the Lord, Corey found great comfort in II Timothy 4:7: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”.

Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, on Sunday, May 27, 2012, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Jeff Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Green, Clayton Creason, Max Brown, Brian Thomas, Tony French, and D.J. Snow. The family requests memorial contributions be made to his daughter Ava’s educational fund and contributions may be made at any First Financial Bank location or the American Cancer Society, in his memory.
