Jack Gale Lawson

TERRE HAUTE — (January 14, 1950-

August 9, 2012)

 Jack Gale Lawson, age 62, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012. He was born in Terre Haute, IN, on January 14, 1950, the son of William Sr. and Helen (Burton) Lawson.

He was operations manager at the Henderson  Riverport. Jack was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and had served his country in the Army 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army Rangers. He was a member of the Evansville Propeller Club, Western Hills Country Club where he had served on the Board of Directors, Elk’s  #277, and was a lifelong member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972, and the American Legion. He loved his grandchildren, playing golf, time with friends, and working in his yard.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Janice Fields, and brother, William Lawson Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Karen (Steele) Lawson of Mt. Vernon, sons, Rodney Lawson and Tony (Joy) Alldredge of Mt. Vernon, daughters, Misty Lawson of Terre Haute and Tina (Jon) Parker of Mt. Vernon, grandchildren; Coby Moreland, Chelsey and Cameron Parker, Addy and Kenly Lawson, Max and Bryce Alldredge, brothers; Paul (Marilyn) Lawson, Jerry (Lora) Lawson and Mike Lawson, and sister Linda (Kenny) Ladd, all of Terre Haute, and nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday August 18, 2012 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 602 Mulberry Street, in Mt. Vernon, with Father Allen Rutherford officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. service time at the church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Jack Lawson Memorial Fund at St. John’s Episcopal Church or the Posey Humane Society.
