West Terre Haute —

Mildred Jane Wilguess, 87, of West Terre Haute passed away at 8:05 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, in Union Hospital. She was born June 11, 1925, to the late Harry Ranney and Myrtle Boyd Ranney. Mildred married John I. Wilguess on Sept. 5, 1941, and he preceded her in death.

Mildred is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Nancy Wilguess, Mike and Ruth Ann Wilguess, and Mark and Cindy Wilguess; three daughters, Carolyn Sue Fennell and her husband, Don, Barbara Perkins, and Cindy Meneely and her husband, Nick. She is also survived by her brother, Harry Ranney; and sisters, Eugenia Beck, and Grace Puller and her husband, George; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mildred was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, John and Steven Ray Wilguess and a granddaughter, Angela Wilson.

Mildred retired from Columbia Records after 23 years of service. She also worked seasonally for the Vigo County Tax office. She was a member of the West Terre Haute Assembly Of God Church. She enjoyed volunteering her time with the Providence Food Pantry in West Terre Haute and she loved to travel.

Mildred’s funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Monday. The family kindly suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Providence Pantry with envelopes available in the funeral home.
