Virginia F. Mixon

MARSHALL, Ill. — Virginia F. Mixon, 85, of Westfield, Ind., and formerly of Marshall, Ill., passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville, Ind. She was born Nov. 23, 1926, in Anderson Township, Clark County, Ill., the daughter of Carl and Bess Stepp Norton.

She was formerly a hostess at Bob Evans at Indianapolis, for 10 years and had been employed at Burnsides Nursing Home in Marshall.

Surviving are a daughter, Deborah (Timothy W.) Cairns of Noblesville; two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Michael) Armstrong and Sarah (Clayton) Patterson, both of Fishers, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Isabella Armstrong, Ashley Armstrong, Roni Patterson, Shardeai Patterson, Alex Patterson, and Dominick Patterson; two sisters, Edith Reedy of Marshall and Lois Norton of Martinsville, Ill.; and a sister-in-law, Betty Norton of Casey, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Mixon; a son, Mike Mixon; and two brothers, Dale Norton and Robert Norton.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Marshall.

Services in honor of her life will be 2 p.m. CST Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Pearce Funeral Home. 314 S. 6th St., in Marshall, with the Rev. Judy Williams officiating. Burial will be in Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time Saturday at the funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
