Helen Francis Black, 87, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 11:08 a.m. Saturday June 16, 2012, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born Jan. 31, 1925, in Williamson, Ill., to Joseph and Tennie Daffron. She married Earl Francis on June 8, 1946, and he preceded her in death on April 24, 1991. She married William Black on Aug. 19, 2006, and he preceded her in death on July 3, 2010.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Lolita Daffron of Clinton, Frank and Sharon Francis of West Terre Haute, and John and Kim Francis of Fairbanks; a daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Tom Camp of West Terre Haute; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son, Roy Vernon Frances, on Nov. 26, 1949.

She enjoyed arts and crafts, playing cards, bingo, and socializing with friends and family.

There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, in Hull Cemetery, with the Rev. Billy Joe Henry officiating. Committal of her ashes will follow. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
