Esther Pauline Little, 63, of Terre Haute, was reunited with The Lord at 1:25 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, in Union Hospital. Esther was born May 28, 1949, in Terre Haute, to Jesse Shockley and Effie (Hatfield) Shockley.
She is survived by a daughter, Amy Booe and her husband Josh of Center Point; a son, Jesse Scott Little and his wife Kim of Olathe, Kan.; five grandchildren, Kylie, Jacob, Cameron, Esther Serafin, and Asa; two sisters, Mary Paul of Mishawaka, Ind., and Karen Hughey and her husband Stanley of Elko, Nev.; a brother, James Shockley and his wife Teenie of Muscatine, Iowa; three aunts, Roberta, Velma, and Elsie; an uncle, Donnie and his wife Mary; a beloved friend, Joann Brown; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Shockley and Effie Hatfield Reed.
Esther enjoyed spending time with her family and playing games with her children and grandchild, she especially liked playing Yahtzee. She also had a big heart, loved to laugh and enjoyed giving to others and seeing that other people’s needs were taken care of.
Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, from 2 until 4 p.m. in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, with funeral services at 4 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Simmons officiating. As per Esther’s request, cremation will follow the funeral services. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you adopt a family for Christmas though any local organization, Christmas was Esther’s favorite time of the year. She will be dearly missed.
