TERRE HAUTE — Norman E. Thomas, 82, of Terre Haute, died at 9:35 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Reid Hospital in Richmond. He was born Nov. 9, 1929, in Terre Haute, to Edith and Clarence Thomas. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War, he was a retired supervisor for Bemis. He enjoyed drinking coffee daily with his friends, he also liked to buy scratch off lottery tickets, and enjoyed Nascar racing, and racing with Brent, cooking, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by two daughters, Dianna Whitley (Scott) of Terre Haute, and Karen Morris (Dennis) of Brazil; two stepsons, David Foltz of Terre Haute and Wayne Foltz (Lisa) of West Terre Haute; eight grandchildren, Brooke Foltz, Bryan Ousky, Danielle Riddell, Christopher Morris, Justin Whitley, Tracy Morris, Jeremy Whitley and Katie Whitley; five great-grandchildren, Destiny Buchanan, Michele Parker, Haleigh Parker, Jasmine Riddell, and Heaven Riddell; two nieces and two nephews; one sister-in-law, Barbara Thomas of Terre Haute; and a special friend, Shirley Mills of Terre Haute. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois Thomas; one daughter, Kathy Ousky; one grandson, Brent Foltz; and a brother, Kenneth Thomas.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, in Frist Funeral Home, 458 Blackman St., in Clinton. Services will be 10 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home  with visitation from 9 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. Pastor Judy Lints will be officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
