Lois G. Barbour

TERRE HAUTE — Lois G. Barbour, 92, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Royal Oaks Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, where she was a resident since 1999. She was born June 15, 1920, the daughter of the late Park and Edith (Conner) Jones. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Lester Barbour on Jan. 8, 1938, in Vigo County. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1994, after more than 55 years of loving marriage.

 Lois will forever be remembered as a kind hearted, quiet and gentle spirited lady. Her sweetness and love of her grandkids will not soon be forgotten, along with her wonderful sense of humor.

She leaves to cherish her memory her six grandchildren, Debbie Harris and husband Dale of Terre Haute, Bill Phillips and wife Linda of Arizona, Linda Farr and husband Brett of Rockville, Mick Harney of Indianapolis, David Price and wife Lisa of Brazil, and Larry Barbour and wife Holly of Terre Haute. Lois was the loving great-grandmother of 10, and great-great-grandmother of 10. She also leaves behind two nephews, one niece, two great-nephews and one great-niece.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Lois was welcomed home to heaven by her son, Larry Barbour; daughter, Marlene (Harney) Goff; and sister, Betty Hamilton.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, from 1 p.m. until Lois’ funeral ceremony at 2 p.m., at Roselawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at: www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
