Ruth Marian Jonas

TERRE HAUTE — Ruth Marian Jonas, 89, of Centerpoint, passed away Oct. 25, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born Aug. 8, 1923, in Terre Haute, Ind. to Loring C. and Lulu (Harris) Halberstadt.  

Ruth was a teacher and retired from Vigo County School Corporation in 1981 after 27 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W. Jonas.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Jonas of Ellettsville; son, Arthur Jonas and wife Beth of Cloverdale; sister, Frances Halberstadt of Terre Haute; sister-in-law, Dolores Zeman and husband Charles of Arizona; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  

Private services will take place at a later date. If you like, contributions may be made to the Poland Fire Department, Poland, Ind. in her memory. French Funeral Home and Crematory are handling arrangements. Light a candle in her memory at:
