JASONVILLE — Laura Lois Hicks (Morge), 87, of Katy, Texas, passed away at 4:20 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, in Texas. She was born Dec. 2, 1924, in Jasonville, to Clay Taylor and Faye (Secrest) Taylor. Lois married Charles E. Hicks on July 12, 1947, and he passed away on Sept. 16, 1976.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bruce Gant of Dallas; sons and daughter-in-law, Edward and Karen Vaughn of Houston, Ronald Hicks of Terre Haute, and Brent Hicks of Houston; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and niece, Lois Ann Stewart of Jasonville.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Wilma Jean Keller on July 3, 2012.

Laura was a secretary for a few years and liked to make and sell crafts. She was a member of the Jasonville Triads, Jasonville First Baptist Church and later Terre Haute Bible Center. She was a member and past president of Honey Creek Mother Bee’s.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Cox Funeral Home, 218 S. Meridian St., with Pastor Jim Gibson officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery, in Midland.
