Herman ‘Delbert’ Hyde

TERRE HAUTE —

Herman “Delbert” Hyde, 87, of West Terre Haute, went home to with God on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012. He had been employed by the former Home Meat Packing Company and retired from Midland Glass Company and Pinkerton Security Company. He was born Feb. 14, 1925, in Vigo County, to Henry Hyde and Priscilla Violet Steadman Hyde.

Survivors include his loving wife, Bessie Roach Hyde, whom he married on Feb. 19, 2000, in West Terre Haute; a son, Kenneth W. Hyde and his wife Mary Lou of Indianapolis; a daughter, Brenda J. Hyde of Terre Haute; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he loved and enjoyed; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby L. Lewis Hyde; his second wife, Betty J. Miller Hyde; a son, Dennis R. Hyde; his parents; two sisters, Mildred L. Barbe and Dorothy I. Reese; and a brother, Richard L. Hyde.

Delbert’s funeral services will be 12 noon Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with the Rev. Randy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. until service time Thursday.
