Kathryn Louise Smith ‘Sally’

TERRE HAUTE — Kathryn Louise Smith “Sally,” 82, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at 8:12 p.m on Monday, July 2, 2012. She was born on July 18, 1929, to Archie James Clark and Lillian Kathryn (Heindlmyr) Clark in Durand, Mich. Kathryn married her husband, Russell E. Smith, on Sept. 14, 1947. She was a member of Agape Christian Church, and there she was a part of the M&M’s club (Ministers and Matures Club). Kathryn also participated in the Wabash Valley Cancer Survivors Club, Y ME. When Kathryn wasn’t spending time with her husband and keeping him straight, or her family, she enjoyed Bible study, painting, computer games and knitting. She loved flowers and nature.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Duane E. Smith, who passed away on Jan. 12, 2009. She is survived by her husband of almost 65 loving years, Russell E. Smith; daughter, Darlene Kathryn Hall and her husband David Lee Hall Sr.; grandchildren, Kristina Kathryn Hall-Gonsalves, her husband John, David Lee Hall Jr., his wife Tynne, and Kari Michelle Smith; great-grandsons, Bryce David Hall and Ethan Matthew Gonsalves; and brother, Nathan A. Clark of Leitchfield, Ky.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 10 a.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive. Pastor Shan Smith will be officiating. Burial will be at Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, July 6, 2012, from 4 until 8 p.m. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Wabash Valley, Nurse Connie, and all of the CNA’s.
