West Terre Haute — Joseph Lynwood “Joe” Chaney, 52, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 2:12 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Orlando, Fla., on Nov. 17, 1959, he was the son of the late James Linwood and Katherine L. (Jones) Chaney. Joe was a 1979 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School.

He was a driver for RBW Trucking Co. for over 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and mowing the yard. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Joe married Toni (Pullen) Morson on Oct. 24, 2009, in West Terre Haute, and she survives. Surviving with his wife; his children, Crystal Stinson (husband Ray) of West Lafayette, Joe Chaney Jr. (wife Tracy) and Matthew Chaney (companion Kelsey), both of Lafayette; a stepdaughter, Jamie Lambert (husband Herb) of Lusk, Wyo.; two brothers, James Chaney and Lester Chaney, both of Lafayette; a sister, Colleen Russell of Nevada; and 10 grandchildren, Graci, Austin, Lexi, Jeremia, Karisma, Lizzy, Kenzie, Dax, Avery, and Taylor.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Hippensteel Funeral Home, 822 N. 9th St., in Lafayette. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Guy Brown officiating. Burial to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
