Marguerite May Myers, 96, of Terre Haute died Sunday, June 24, 2012 in Davis Gardens Health Care Center. She had formerly worked for Pillsbury. She was born January 7, 1916 in Vigo County to John W. Mitchell and Lucinda Triplett Mitchell.
Survivors include a sister, Geneva Swinford of Terre Haute; a sister-in-law, Norma Mitchell of Staunton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, William S. “Bill” Myers in 1990; an infant daughter, Sandra Sue Myers; four brothers, Roland Mitchell, John Mitchell, Arthur Mitchell and Jesse Mitchell who died in childhood; and four sisters, Evangeline Sandburg, Esther Gilman, Annetta Poett and Lenore Mitchell who died in childhood.
Marguerite was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church; she had been socially active for 22 years at Westminster Village and was a talented seamstress.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Curtis Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M.
