Marvin L. Jones

TERRE HAUTE — Marvin Leroy Jones, 75, of Rockville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 25, 2012, at Union Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 26, 1937, in Detroit, to Lathie G. and Levesta Marie (Smith) Jones. He married Jeanette A. Wolfe on Jan. 12, 1957, and together they raised three children. Marvin worked for 21 years at Quakermaid, as a coal miner for Ziegler Mines, and the Tribune-Star. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed bowling and bingo. He was a member of the Masonic Temple FM No. 19 of Terre Haute and Rockville Christian Church. Marvin was a true family man and will be greatly missed.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jeanette; their children, Levesta Wilson of Terre Haute, Bob Jones of Rockville, and Tim Jones and his wife Sherry of Rockville; grandchildren, Andrea Jones and Corben Jones, both of Rockville, Brandie Heller of Florida, and Tim Heller of California; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Phil Jones and his wife Sandy and Larry Jones and his wife Maggie; several nieces  and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew, Lloyd Robert Sears; in-laws, Howard and Eileen Wolfe; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Wolfe.

Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012, at Roselawn Funeral Home with a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at: www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
