Eula E. Banton Hinsey

BRAZIL — BRAZIL — Eula E. Banton Hinsey, 92, of Brazil, and formerly of Rochelle, Ill., went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family at 4:03 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She retired from Karon Yarn Factory in Rochelle, with many years of service. She was born Oct. 24, 1919, in Whitley, Ark., to the late Lee Nolan Karnes and Celia Williams Karnes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Kinsey. Survivors include one daughter, Sandy (Bob) Matlock of Brazil; one son, Phil Banton of Rochelle; one brother, Roy Karnes of Dover, Ark.; one sister, Syble (Morris) Gibson of Dover; eight grandchildren, Debbie Matlock, Danny (Kristy) Matlock, Renee (Mike) Stuck, Shawnee Meltzer, Candice (Jason) Hill, Heather (Jason) Balis, Phillip Banton, and Kimberly Banton; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne and Donald Banton; one daughter, Marsha Ann Mahaffey on Jan. 6, 2012; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Kaye Banton in June of 1993; seven sisters; and three brothers.

She was of the Pentecostal faith. She loved to knit and was a talented artist, drawing many pictures and portraits of her grandchildren. She loved tinkering with her hands.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with the Revs. Marion Hoard and Craig McGee officiating. Burial will follow in Bethesda Memorial Park Cemetery in West Terre Haute. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
