James D. “Jim” Stevens, 69, of Sullivan, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012. He was born in Sullivan County, on Sept. 8, 1943, to Woodrow Stevens and Barbara Prose Stevens Garrard. He was a 1960 graduate of Bunker Hill High School, was a U.S. Navy veteran, and was employed by TRW in Marshall, Ill.
Preceding Jim in death were his father; and a half brother, Mike Garrard.
Surviving is his mother, Barbara Garrard; three brothers, John of Kissimmee, Fla., Joe of Cloverdale, and Jack of Merom; half sister, Tammy Owens of Greencastle; two sons, Shane and Brent of Jasonville; six grandchildren, Chase, Dakota, Erica, Megan, Christa and Candace; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Jim will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at the Merom United Methodist Church, in Merom. Holmes Memorial Chapel was entrusted with arrangements.
