John ‘Johnny’ Wilson

TERRE HAUTE — John “Johnny” Wilson, 50, of Terre Haute, passed away in his residence at 10:25 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012. He was born May 28, 1962, in Terre Haute, to David and Mary Wilson. Johnny was a member of Krietenstein Post 104 and Izzak Walton League Chapter 200.

He was employed by Ampacet Corp. for the past 24 years. His last position at Ampacet was assistant supervisor. Johnny loved to go camping, play cornhole and horseshoes, listen to his scanner, and spend time with friends. He loved to be with his family and he enjoyed the Amish culture. Johnny also loved to drive the back country roads.

Johnny was preceded in death by his, father, David Wilson. Johnny is survived by his wife, Retta Jarvis Wilson, who he married on July 17, 2009; his mother, Mary Wilson; grandmother, Virginia Wilson; a son, Bronson Wilson and his wife Jody; daughter, Brandy Haltom and her husband Jed; stepdaughters, Melissa Kellett and her husband Jarred, and Amanda Sereno and her husband Brandon; brothers, Randy Wilson and wife Chris, and Davie Wilson and wife Joanne; sisters, Terry Wilkinson, Susan Mace and husband Eddie; six grandchildren, Dalton Wilson, Mason and Malia Haltom, Brooklyn and Brock Kellett, and Paisley Sereno; very special aunts and uncles; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

Services will be Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home,  4660 N. Lafayette, with visitation today from 4 to 8 p.m. Officiating will be Lance Byrd with burial to follow at Rosdale Cemetery. A special thanks from the family to Crystal Keith and family and Hospice of The Wabash Valley. At Johnny’s request “one more” celebration of life will take place immediately following Monday’s graveside service beginning at Shrine Hill Country Club on Temple Avenue.
