Laveda Juanita Krider

BRAZIL — Laveda Juanita Krider, on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, went to meet her Lord Jesus in Heaven. Laveda was born on April 18, 1917, the sixth of a family of 12, to Clara (Morlan) and Alva Hayes. She graduated from VanBuren High School, class of 1935. On April 18, 1936, she married George Krider and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary together. Judy, their baby girl, was born to them in 1943. Judy was their love and joy and made their family complete.

Laveda worked outside of the home, with jobs at Simplicity Pattern in Terre Haute; secretary to Mr. Hunter at Natco Corp. in Brazil; secretary for Jack Mayrose at Staunton High School for 13 years. After retiring in 1980, she so enjoyed being around people that she began selling Avon and won several awards with the company.

Laveda enjoyed spending winter months in Florida for 10 years with sisters and a niece. Her joy was in her family, singing with her sisters, her church, reading God’s word and telling others about Jesus. She has been a longtime member of First Church of the Nazarene in Brazil and attending Ladies Prayer meeting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; and five sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Judy Timberman and husband Terry of Brazil; grandchildren, Angie Albright and husband Jay of Minneapolis, Libby Butts and husband Mike of Brazil, and T.G. Timberman and wife Beth of Brazil; great-grandchildren, Zebbulon Butts, Clara Butts, Sam Albright, Abe Albright, Parker Timberman, Macey Timberman, and Braden Parr; two sisters, Ann Marlow and Carol Tyler; one brother, Forest Hayes; three brothers-in-law, Luther Krider, Roy Krider, and Russell Boatman; three sisters-in-law, Eva Hayes, Emma Krider, and Mable Krider; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.

Her family will miss her positive attitude, her unconditional love for all and her faithful prayer for many.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lawson-Miller Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Bechtel officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pallbearers will include Terry Timberman, T.G. Timberman, Braden Parr, Mike Butts, Zeb Butts, Randy Timberman, and Parker Timberman. Donations may be made to First Church of the Nazarene or to Great Lakes Hospice Care. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Light a candle in her memory at: www.lawson-millerchapel.com
