John David Archer

TERRE HAUTE — John David Archer, 66, of Terre Haute, and currently of Danville, Ill., passed away Dec. 8, 2012, at the Veterans Hospital in Danville, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Terre Haute, on Dec. 3, 1946, the son of John and Mae (Davis) Archer. He graduated from Brazil High School, and served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Navy. John worked as a car salesman at several dealerships in the Terre Haute area.

John especially enjoyed his time spent with friends at Jerry’s, and more recently Denny’s. He also enjoyed playing the stock market and spending time with his feline companions, Tiger and Calico.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Helen Corne (Jeremy), and a son, David Archer (Lori Miller), all of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Ashley Stadler, Austin Stadler, Alexander Stadler, Michaela Archer and Zachary Archer, all of Terre Haute; a brother, Curtis Archer of Terre Haute; two sisters, Janet Hallmark of Illinois, and Linda Hallmark of Terre Haute; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.  

Services will be at French Funeral Home, in Brazil, on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at 12 noon, with Pastor Tom Roeschlein officiating. Burial will follow at Veterans National Cemetery, in Danville, Ill. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service. To light a candle in his memory visit:
