Lillian Irene Schenk

TERRE HAUTE — Lillian Irene Schenk, 73, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully in her residence, at noon Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012. She was born April 10, 1939, in Montrose, Ill., to Floyd Flowers and Lattie Mae Main Flowers. She attended school in Mason and Yorkville, Ill. She worked in factories in Yorkville and later at Spectrum Industries for 13 years and then five years at Westaff, after moving to Terre Haute, in 1989.

 Lillian enjoyed dancing, and her flower garden. She made many friends in her lifetime. She was married to Joe D. May, Roy Moore, and Carl Schenk, all of whom preceded her in death; as well as two sisters, Gladys Jones and Dorothy Harper.

She is survived by her close friend, Bradley W. Jones; five children, Joe E. May, Carl Lee May, Barbara Tibbitts (Harry) of Aurora, Ill., Judy Page (Charlie) of New Albany, Miss., and Walter Schenk (Dianne) of Laconia, N.H.; grandchildren, Joe D. May, Jeffry VanBlaricome, Travis Page, Bethany Schenk, Laura Schenk, and Judah Schenk; and one great-granddaughter, Kaylee May. She also is survived by brothers, Wayne Flowers (Barbara) of Wheeler, Ill., Raymond Flowers (Georgia) of Lakewood, Fla., and Kenny Flowers of Dietrich, Ill.; sisters, Carol Moore of Effingham, Ill., and Patty Gottberg (Herb) of Ottawa, Ill.

Funeral services for Lillian will be Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at 12 noon, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday. Graveside services will be at Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon, Ill., at 3:30 p.m. EST, with the Rev. Kyle Andrews officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Lillian's name. Online condolences may be made at:
