Virgil O. “Buster” Streeter, 79, of Terre Haute, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at his residence. Virgil was born Sept. 6, 1933, the son of William B. Streeter and Erma I. (Thompson) Streeter. Mr. Streeter retired from the Indiana National Guard on Dec. 3, 1987, after many years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Barry Streeter. Virgil is survived by his wife, Jeanette (Smith) Streeter; children, Rhonda (Stephen) Jones of Terre Haute, Barton Streeter of Estero, Fla., and Brian (Renee) Streeter and Brad Streeter, all of Terre Haute. Also surviving are sisters, Loree Stewart and Pauline Weddle, both of Riley; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for the family will be held at 2 p.m. today in Oak Hill Cemetery, 10055 South State Route 46, with the Rev. Jeff Lee officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice, c/o Gentiva Hospice Foundation, 7801 Mesquite Bend Drive, Suite 105 Irving, TX 75063, in Virgil’s name. Arrangements are under the direction of Simple Cremations and Burials.
