ANNAPOLIS, ILL. — Edward W. Guyer, 93, of Annapolis, died at 4:49 a.m. EST Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind., after a courageous battle against cancer.

He was born in Sugar City, Colo., (Lincoln County) on Nov. 2, 1919, the son of Everett and Ethel (Gurley) Guyer. On Jan. 31, 1948, Edward married Maggie Lorean Drum, and she survives.

Edward is survived by his wife of 64 years, Maggie Lorean Guyer; three sons, Charles Guyer, Ivan Guyer, and Kim Guyer; three daughters, Char Ellington, Donna Dowell, and Mary McCarty; five grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; three brothers, Russell, Emerson, and Randall; and his sister, Dorothy.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. EST Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Prust-Hosch Funeral Home, in West Union, with Pastor Ken Gillaspy officiating. Burial will be in the Hutsonville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Nov. 20, 2012, at the funeral home. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at:
