Betty Jane Isle, 80, of Terre Haute, went home to be with her husband, Harold, on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on Oct. 4, 1932, in Petersburg, to Clyde Otto and Olive Bernice (Warden) Shelton. She married the love of her life, Harold Isle, in 1952. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and mother-in-law. She will be deeply missed.
Betty is survived by her son, William Isle and his wife Rebecca of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Brooke Anne Capace and her husband Jeff, Rachel Jane Isle and her boyfriend Alex, Nicole Lynne Jenkins and her husband David, and Terren William Isle and his fiancée Heather Embry; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Rane, Dominic Michael, Jonathan Matthew, Sebastian Winslow, and Haley Kathleen; sister, Helen Overton; brother, William Shelton; and extended family, Marsha, Danny, Jeanie, and Michelle.
Betty was greeted in Heaven by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Harold; and a son, Terry Kent Isle.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Roselawn Funeral Home, 7500 N. Clinton St. A funeral ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Kyle Andrews officiating. Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband in Roselawn Memorial Park.
