Leora Pierce Lloyd

TERRE HAUTE — Leora Pierce Lloyd, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, in Springhill Villages. She was born Oct. 30, 1921, in Terre Haute, to Frank and Mary Fuson.

Leora was retired from Vigo County School Corporation. She was an active member of the Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling to Florida, playing games and family reunions. Her daily prayer was, “Lord, please let me be a blessing to someone today.” Leora will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Leora was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Harold E. Pierce, whom she married April 13, 1941, he passed away May 31, 1980; and her second husband, T. Curtis Lloyd, whom she married Dec. 17, 1988, he passed away March 28, 2002. She also was preceded in death by a very special friend, Boyd Climer; two brothers, John Fuson and Earl Fuson; five sisters, Helen Barkman, Margaret Jaeger, June Martin, Della Francis, and Catherine Amerman; and a great-grandson, Matthew Thomas Higgenbotham.

Leora is survived by three children, Leroy Pierce and his wife Cheryl of Brazil, Paulette Kruzan and Annette King, both of Terre Haute; seven grandchildren, Kim Johnston, Todd Pierce, Denise Sebring, Michelle Lock (Mike), Jeff King, Heather Burk, and Holly Scheller (Jeff); 13 great-grandchildren, Michael, Trey, Megan, Miranda, Seth, Claire, Thomas, Grace, Mackenzie, Matthew, Macey, Quinn, and Burk. Leora also is survived by one brother, Richard Fuson and his wife Sis and one sister, Virginia Dragon and her husband Dave, all of Terre Haute; two sisters-in-law, Catherine Fuson of Terre Haute and Edna Mae Fuson of Michigan; and one brother-in-law, Jack Francis of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th St., in Terre Haute. Pastor Burt Baker will be officiating; burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at:  www.greinerfuneralhome.com.
