CARMEL VALLEY, Calif. — Cathy Sue White, 60, of Carmel Valley, Calif., formerly of Terre Haute, passed away at her home on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, following a courageous battle with breast cancer, with her companion, Stephanie Haines by her side, assisted by Hospice. She was born Aug. 27, 1952, the oldest child of Lewis A. White and Sue Ann Criss White. She was a respiratory therapist at Kaizer Hospital in San Jose, Calif.

She is survived by her father; brothers, Mark and Ricky; sisters, Karen and Kim; nieces, nephews and cousins, and many, many special friends she left behind. She was preceded in death by many loved ones including her mother; grandmothers and grandfathers; great-grandmothers and great-grandfathers; aunts and nieces.

She graduated from Gerstmeyer High School and was a national honor roll student, She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. and her doctorate in education.

Cathy was an amazing, articulate, courageous and wonderful person that will be very much missed. All who knew her loved her elfish smile, and it showed in her eyes. She loved and was loved unconditionally.

Cathy had planned her cremation, with a memorial service at a later date.
