Ova “Bud” L. Dailey, 86, of Terre Haute, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at his residence. He was born March 14, 1926, in Worthington, to Thurman and Aluah Dailey. He married Mary E. Price and together they raised three sons. Bud worked until his retirement for Conrail as a car repairman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was a member of North Terre Haute Baptist Church where he actively participated as the Bus Ministry Director. He was fondly known by the children who rode the bus as “Mr. Bud.” He enjoyed hard work. He loved gardening, and most of all, his family.
Bud is survived by his wife Mary; their sons, Thurman Leo Dailey and wife Karen of Marshall, Ill., Stephen Dailey and wife Diane of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Roger Dailey and wife Robin of Brazil; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at North Terre Haute Baptist Church, with Pastors Mark Tobey and Paul P. Carey officiating.
