ROCKVILLE — Michael Leo Smith, 56, of Rockville, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, in his residence. He was born Aug. 20, 1956, in Clinton, the son of Morris L. Smith and Eleanor Craycraft Smith.
Mike was a graduate of Turkey Run High School. He was a farmer in Greene Township and the owner of MLS Excavating LLC.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his wife, Debra Earl Smith, whom he married Feb. 18, 2004. He also is survived by his daughter, Kelsi Fernandez and her husband Ruben of Danville, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Burns of Monticello, and Cori Hagans and her husband Brandon of Terre Haute; one stepson, Craig Cox of Rockville; one brother, Morris R. Smith and his wife Lynn of Rockville; and proud Papaw to eight grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. with visitation prior to, at Butler Funeral Home, 218 North College Street, in Rockville, with Pastor Scott Volland officiating. Burial will be in Portland Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
