TERRE HAUTE — Bill L. Chapman, 77, of Terre Haute, passed away on Jan. 14, 2013, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. His wife, Helen Ellinger Chapman, preceded him in death just three weeks ago on Dec. 23, 2012. He was born to Gilbert and Mary Louise (Mahan) Chapman on Nov. 10, 1935, and they also have preceded him in death. Bill was retired from Bemis Company, was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, and had served with the Indiana Army National Guard.

His survivors include a son, Kevin Chapman; four daughters, Debbie Harding, Anita Harding, Sandy Schuman and husband Michael, and Tammy Scarbrough and husband Greg; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a brother, Teddy Joe Chapman.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, with the Rev. Don Ransford officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. For those who choose, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at:
