Joe Lynn Williams

WEST UNION, Ill. — Joe Lynn Williams, 63, of West Union, passed away 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind. He was born July 31, 1949, in Terre Haute, the son of Woodford G. Williams and Mildred Jackson Williams. He married Jackie L. Milburn on Nov. 15, 1968. He was a lifelong farmer and had been a Pioneer Seed Dealer for 32 years.

Surviving are his wife, Jackie; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Dawn Williams of Marshall, Ill.; four granddaughters, Kodie, Brittany, Tiffany and Kennedy; his mother, Mildred Medsker of Marshall; two brothers. Richard (Kay) Williams of Clarksville, and Roger Williams of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his father; one niece; one nephew; and one great-nephew.

He attended Emmanuel United Methodist Church, a past director of the Clark County Farm Bureau and was a past Anderson Township Trustee. In 2011 he and his family was honored as the Conservation Farm Family of the Year.

He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of Clark County Post 90 of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5975.

Services in honor of his life will be 10:30 a.m. CST Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., in Marshall, with Michael J. Davis officiating. Burial will be in Marshall Cemetery with military services in honor of his service to this country by Clark County Post 90 of the American Legion and VFW Post 5975. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, and prior services at the funeral home on Saturday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Joe L.
