CARBON — James K. Bucklin, 53, of Carbon, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012, in his home after a short battle with cancer. He was born on Feb. 8, 1959, in Brazil, to James B. Bucklin and Patricia (Martin) Bucklin, and was preceded in death by his mother.

He graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1977, and worked as a heavy equipment operator and for the past 17 years. He was employed by S & G Excavating and a member of IOUE Local 841. He enjoyed fishing, but gardening was his favorite pastime, particularly raising giant pumpkins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Bucklin.

In October 1984, he married Rebecca Tabor, who survives, along with their daughter, Victoria Bucklin. Also surviving are his father and stepmother, James B. Bucklin and Sally Bucklin; a brother, Jeffrey Bucklin; stepsisters, Kathy Bell and Janet Cox; as well as several extended family members.

At Jim’s request, cremation will be provided. Friends and family are welcome to gather from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., in Brazil. Services will follow at 6:30 p.m. with Bill Herb officiating. Visit www.lawson-millerchapel.com to light a candle in his memory.
