Rosalie M. Baker

Rosalie M. Baker, 80, of Terre Haute, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012. She was born March 31, 1932, in Lyons, to Hubert and Orrest Loos. She married Larry Lee Baker June 3, 1951, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Baker; brother, Ned Loos and wife Barbara; and sister, Mary Lou Wheeler and husband Jimmie. Additional survivors include  grandchildren, Matthew Baker, son of Deputy Sheriff Terry Lee Baker, who was killed in the line of duty in 1981, Brynden Keller, Corey Buckingham, Amanda Keller, Grace Buckingham, and Promise Buckingham; great-grandchildren, Delaney Baker, Jacob Bradfield, Taylor Bradfield, and Feona Kilander; nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many, many, wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brother, Gerald Lee Loos; and son, Terry Lee Baker

She was a member of Riley United Methodist Church 70-plus years, children’s teacher, youth choir director, adult choir director, Cub Scout Leader, member of Riley Order of the Eastern Star, 61-plus years, and Foster Parent for 20 children

Her hobbies were bowling, golfing, camping and knitting

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at Oakhill United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kyle Andrews officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, at the church. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Indiana Concerns of Police Officers/C.O.P.S.,P.O. Box 556, Shelbyville, In 46178, In Memory of Deputy Terry Lee Baker, killed in the line of duty. This organization helps families of Fallen Officers deal with the tragedy. Envelopes will be available at the church. Mattox-Fox Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
