TERRE HAUTE —
Mary Lucille Klug Tarwater, 92, passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at her home in Glen Carbon, Ill. She was born April 19, 1920, in Terre Haute, to Martin Klug and Marie Hahn Klug. She married William Tarwater, who preceded her in death in 2002, and they lived in Glen Carbon. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana State University in art education and taught art classes for many years.
Survivors include her three daughters, Ann Vikland and husband Max of Coulterville, Ill., Theresa Tarwater and Katie Tarwater, both of Glen Carbon; one brother, John V. Klug of Terre Haute; and one sister, Rita Klug of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Riedel, Martha Klug and Justine Schinkle; and two brothers, Raymond Klug and Maurice Klug.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. CDT today, Oct. 3, 2012, at Irwin Chapel in Glen Carbon. Burial will be Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, in St. Louis, at the Old Cathedral, with mass at 10 a.m.
