---- — SULLIVAN — Warren Lester Clark, 84, of Indianapolis, and formerly of Sullivan, passed away, with his family at his bedside, at 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 30, 2010, at Community Hospital North, in Indianapolis. Born in Shelburn, on Sept. 11, 1925, the son of John T. Clark and Edna Hughes Clark. He married Mary Lou Loudermilk on Oct. 30, 1954.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Lou Clark; two sons, Gary Clark and Gordon Clark, both of Indianapolis; one daughter, Angela Clark of Indianapolis; one sister, Geneva Gobin of Midland, Texas; three grandchildren, Celine Clark, Anna Gannon (Robbie), and William Clark; and two great-grandchildren, Camryn and Bradyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, John T. Clark, Charles, William and Phillip Clark; and four sisters, Folsom Campbell, Edna Marie Thompson, Carole Bex, and Helen Jane Drake.

Warren graduated from Sullivan High School, class of 1943, graduated from Indiana State University, and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, and a survivor of Iwo Jima. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 97, retired as a credit manager from P.T.C. Components, in Indianapolis, and also was a Chief Station manager for Sun Oil.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at St. Mary’s Church, in Sullivan, with Father Frank Renner officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Banks and Brust Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be at Center Ridge Cemetery, with graveside military rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn,and Hymera American Legion posts, and the Sullivan County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.
