Andria Louise Nicoson

TERRE HAUTE — Andria Louise Nicoson, 48, of Terre Haute, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 20, 2012, after passing away at 6:45 p.m. in Union Hospital, in Terre Haute, after a courageous battle with long term health issues.

She had been employed as a dispatcher for the West Terre Haute Police  Department and Vigo County Sheriff’s Department for many years prior to her illness. Andria was born Dec. 20, 1963, in Terre Haute, to Keith “Pat” Nicoson Sr. and Phyllis Martino Nicoson.

Survivors include two sisters, Denise Montgomery and her husband Chuck, and Mary Ann Doumas and her husband Michael; two brothers, James Nicoson and Keith Nicoson and his wife Janet; her friend and companion, Joe Sullivan; a niece, Jennifer McMasters and her husband Derrick; three nephews, Patrick Doumas, Justin Nicoson, and Cole Nicoson; and two great-nieces, Lucy Hayne and Karsyn Buck. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

She was a graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School class of 1982 and a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and Fraternal Order of Police. She enjoyed her special time spent with her close knit family and many friends.

Andria’s funeral service to celebrate her life will be 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with the Rev. Chris Wilbur officiating. According to her wishes, cremation has been scheduled following all services. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until service time Wednesday. Also per her wishes following the funeral service there will be a gathering and further celebration of her life for family and friends from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Marine Corps League, 3006 N. 16th St., in Terre Haute. The family kindly suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Andria’s name and dropped off or mailed to First Financial Bank.
