PALESTINE, Ill. — Pfc. Jacob Timothy Tracy, 20, of Palestine died Sunday, June 17, 2007, in Iraq as a result of injuries sustained in combat. He was born Sept. 20, 1986, in Paris to Donald Eugene Tracy and Sheila Dove Cook Tracy. He attended Palestine High School and Pilgrim Holiness Church in rural Palestine. He served in the U.S. Army 2nd Brigade, First Troop, 8th Cavalry, in the regular Army.
He is survived by his parents of Palestine; two sisters, Christine Ann Adamson and husband Jason of New Port Richey, Fla., and Nichole Lynn Dunlap and husband Derek of rural Flat Rock; one niece and one nephew; maternal grandparents, Mollie and Richard Houser of Willow Hill; maternal grandfather, Steve Cook of Marshall; maternal great-grandmother, Rachel Miller of Willow Hill; and paternal grandparents, John and Janez Tracy of Robinson.
Arrangements are pending at Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine.
