Charles Joseph Goble

MARTINSVILLE, Ill. — Charles Joseph Goble, 83, of Martinsville, passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012, at Burnsides Community Health Center, in Marshall, Ill. He was born March 9, 1929, in Hutton Township, Coles County, Ill., the son of Albert Clarence “A.C.” Goble and Jessie Belle Eldridge Goble. On Oct. 23, 1954, he married Loretta Mae Smith in Casey, Ill.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Loretta Goble of Martinsville; daughters, Diane (Wyatt) Reeley of Dixon, Ill., Debbie (Rocky) Johnson of Martinsville, and Brenda Francis (Mark Marquis) of West Terre Haute, Ind.; sons, Gary Goble of Casey, and Brian (Angel) Goble of Marshall; sisters, Emma Jean Davis of Westfield, Ill., and Elsie (Clifford) Smith of Casey; grandchildren, Clint (Kacie) Johnson, Ashley Francis, Logan Reeley, Dylan Reeley, Justin Goble, Austin Francis, Bradyn Budde, Leslie Goble, and Breah Keim; and great-grandchildren, Blaykli Francis, Blake Morris, and Emily Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lori Ann Goble; brothers, Harold, James, Marion, and Calvin Goble; and sisters, Eleanor Rupert and Hazel Domurat.

Charles was a U.S. Army Korean war veteran. He was a member of the Martinsville American Legion. He was a partner in H & G Spray Service in Casey, and retired from Hardway Oil Company in Casey.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., in Martinsville, with the Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, in Martinsville, with graveside military rites by the Martinsville American Legion. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
