Darrell E. Bozarth

TERRE HAUTE — Darrell E. Bozarth, 44, of West Terre Haute, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012. He was co-owner of Grizzley, Incorporated in Terre Haute. He was born March 14, 1968, in Terre Haute, to Dale and Kay Bozarth.  

Survivors include two daughters, Lacie Bozarth and Cassie Bozarth and their mother, Jamie Long Bozarth; his parents, Dale and Kay Bozarth; a brother, Eric Jay Bozarth; grandmother, Leah VanHoutin; an uncle, E.J. Bozarth II; cousins, Jonathon and Brooke Bozarth, and Tony, Terry, and Tim Meadlo. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth and Ruth Bozarth and Hugh VanHoutin.

Darrell was a graduate of West Vigo High School class of 1986 after which he became a member of the Indiana Air National Guard, where he served as crew chief for the 181st fighter wing in Terre Haute. He loved being with his girls and his family. He loved the outdoors and he was very accomplished at bowhunting, racing quads, bowfishing, and hunting of all types. He enjoyed many hunting trips, where he achieved many trophy class sizes of many species. He was sponsored by Bowtech, Grim Reaper Broadheads, Bowfishing extreme, and others. He also was a member of the NRA. Darrell had many friends he considered brothers that shared his love of the outdoors.

A celebration of Darrell’s life will be held at his parents, Dale and Kay’s home, 10748 U.S. Hwy. 150, in West Terre Haute, from 2 until 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, with a service beginning at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Chris Wilbur officiating followed by the sharing of memories of Darrell from any family, friends, and brothers. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 1261 West 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 46260. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home of West Terre Haute assisted with arrangements.
