Evelyn Ruth Edington, 94, of New Goshen, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Union Hospital Clinton. She was born April 9, 1918, the daughter of Ora Reed and Lona Shirley Reed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo H. (Cotton) Edington; a daughter, Nila Ruth Edington; daughter-in-law, Madonna Livingston Edington; brother, Robert Reed and wife Wanda Reed; and sister, Freda Searing and brother-in-law, William (Bill) Searing.
She is survived by her sons, Billy H. Edington of Tecumseh, Eddie E. Edington and wife Brenda N. of New Goshen; granddaughters, Donna Kelley and friend Cole Walter of Dana, Cathy Edington of Nashville, Tenn., Debbie and Brent Kernstein of West Terre Haute; grandson, Adam Edington and Sherry of New Goshen; great-grandchildren, Sean and wife Sarah Kelley, and Candace Kelley; great-grandchildren, Luke and Tyler Kernstein, Shelby and Aaron Edington; great-great-grandchildren, Liam Kelley, Sierra, Sage and Connor Kelley; nieces, Carol and husband Larry Benner, Judy and husband David Rader, Jean and Tony Savant, Ella May and Richard Jackson, Jeanette and Dick Stultz, Sandy and Steve Howard; and several great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Frist Funeral Home, in Clinton, with the Rev. James Haught officiating. Burial is in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation is noon until services Friday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to a charity of choice.
