WORTHINGTON — Harold E. Shouse, 92, of Worthington, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Linton Nursing and Rehab Center in Linton. He was born in Owen County, on Sept. 4, 1920, the son of Otto and Ruth (Stantz) Shouse. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from NSWC Crane in 1980 after 31 years of service. He was a member of Church of Christ. He also was a life member of the American Legion Post 22 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7118, both of Linton.

Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis A. Binkowski of Dandridge, Tenn., Carolyn S. (Jerry) Moss of Linton, and Patty (Larry) King of Jasonville; a son, Terry Joe (Rose) Shouse of Linton; stepson, Norman (Patty) Klass of Coal City; a brother, Robert F. Shouse of Martinsville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Alma (Cook) Shouse on Sept. 29, 1984; second wife, Luella (Karns) Shouse on Feb. 3, 2011; a stepgrandson, Michael Klass; and two sons-in-law, Phillip Myers and Casey Binkowski.

Funeral services will be conducted at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, 140 E. Vincennes St., in Linton, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, with Pastor Larry Watters officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, in Linton, with military graveside rites by the American Legion Post 22 of Linton. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Greene County Humane Society through the funeral home.
