James “Jim” Frederick DeHart, 63, one of God’s faithful servants, was called home Nov. 6, 2012. Jim was born June 3, 1949, to Elmer “Bud” and Rosemary DeHart. Jim served in the Indiana Air National Guard from 1968 to 1974. He retired from Duke Energy in 2007 after 37 1/2 years of service. Jim loved the outdoors, his dogs, his Harley, playing golf, but his grandchildren were the apple of his eye.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Pierson DeHart; and nephew Brad DeHart.
Survivors Include wife of 41 years, Barbara DeHart of Terre Haute; sons, Scott DeHart of Columbus, Ohio, Ryan (Libby) DeHart of Terre Haute, and Chris (Melissa) DeHart of Brazil; brothers, Bill DeHart of Terre Haute, Bob (Judy) DeHart of Plainfield; and grandchildren, Zachary Duggins, Rylee, Mason, Lucas, Ethan, Tori, and Addi DeHart
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Seelyville with burial to follow at Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Moore Funeral Home in Brazil, has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Online condolences may be expressed at:
