TERRE HAUTE — Frances Fox Harris, passed away on Sept. 8, 2012, at the age of 93, while residing in Lexington, Ky. She was born Oct. 22, 1918, to Edith Lambert and Benjamin Weaver Shake. Frances graduated from Carlisle High School, in Carlisle. After a lifetime career in banking, she retired as an officer at Indiana State Bank, in Terre Haute.

She moved from Terre Haute to Lexington in 2003, to be near her family, where she lived the remainder of her life. Frances was very active in the Unity Presbyterian Church in Terre Haute, and Crestwood Christian Church in Lexington. She had an uncanny since of humor, a quick wit, and loved to play jokes on her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, William Guy, Burl Gummere, Robert Fox, and Harold Harris; her parents; and brothers, Ryan, Gaylord and Benjamin Jr. Shake.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Marcia Kay Guy Stephenson of Lexington; grandchildren, Kellie Kern of Lexington, Kathleen Kern Hardison (Ty Graham) of Atlanta, and Kristina Kern of Washington, D.C.; and three great-grandchildren, Piper, Blake and Stella.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with funeral services following, on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive. The Rev. Linda Peters of Unity Presbyterian Church will be officiating. Burial will be at Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff who attended her with love and tenderness and the Lexington, Ky., Hospice, for their support and her comfort on her final day. Online condolences can be made at: www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
