Urbana, Ill. — Patricia Ann Roelfs, of Urbana, died at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012. Pat was born April 12, 1940, the daughter of Homer Beattie and Elizabeth Ann (Wilson) Smith, in Champaign, Ill. Pat married H. John Roelfs on Aug. 5, 1962. He preceded her in death in 2005.

Funeral services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church Flatville. Pastor James T. Lehman and Pastor Barbara Busboom will officiate. Burial will follow at Kopmann Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. CDT with a prayer service to follow at Freese Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Funeral services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012.

Surviving are one daughter, Pamela Norris (Roger) of Terre Haute, Ind.; her sons, Darren (Charlene) Roelfs of Hudson, Ill., Dwayne (Nicki) Roelfs of Champaign, and Daniel Roelfs of Urbana. She also is survived by her grandsons, Kerry and Jacob Norris; stepgrandchildren, Brian (Kristy) Ely of Dwight, Ill., and Sarah Schneeman of Fairbury, Ill,; stepgreat-grandchildren, Madison and Mikayla Ely, Nicholas, Connor, and Hailey. She also is survived by brothers, Don Smith (Joyce) of Urbana and Jim Smith (Doreen) of Broomfield, Colo.; as well as nieces, nephews.

Pat attended Urbana schools and graduated from the University of Illinois in 1962 with a degree in elementary education. She was an elementary teacher in Champaign County for 33 years. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Flatville. She was a lifelong member of the IEA/NEA as well as a member of Illinois Reading Council and Champaign County Farm Bureau.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Capital Improvement Fund or Developmental Services Center Champaign.
