--- — BRAZIL — Roy T. Rogers, 81, of Brazil, passed away at St. Vincent Clay Hospital, Sept. 12, 2012, following a lengthy illness.

Roy was born April 20, 1931, in Brazil, the son of Raymond and Mary Jane (Williams) Rogers. Roy married Marjorie Love Oct. 13, 1956. He served his country in the United States Army from 1952 through 1954.

Roy had worked at Arketex Clay Plant 3 for most of his working life. He also worked for the City Coal Yard and the Clay County Highway Department for several years. Roy enjoyed rabbit squirrel hunting and was known for training Beagle dogs.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Teresa Cooksey; siblings: Harold Rogers, Maxine McGee, John Rogers, Everett Rogers Sr., Beverly Britton, Carl Rogers, Raymond Rogers, and Earl Rogers; granddaughter Victoria Pressling.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Marjorie Rogers of Brazil; daughter, Janet Taylor; son, Tommy Rogers of Brazil; grandchildren: Mike Cooksey (Denise) of Brazil; Scott Cooksey (Valerie) of Terre Haute, Chris Cooksey of Brazil, William J. Rogers (April), and Becky Bush (James) of Brazil; great-grandchildren: Renee, Tiara, Mcailyn, Kaden, Alyssa, Michael, Timmy, Katelyn, Isabelle, Aubrey and Isaiah; sister: Goldie Malone as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Graveside services will be at Calcutta Cemetery, Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 at 1 p.m. Visitation will be at the cemetery Monday from noon until time of services.
