ST. BERNICE — Mildred L. Gibbons, 89 of St. Bernice passed away at 8 p.m. on Sept. 6, 2012, in the Clinton Gardens. She was born in Jonestown, Ind. on Sept. 2, 1923, to James Hutson and Ida Smith Hutson. She was a self-employed beautician. She was a member of the St. Bernice Nazarene Church and the Senior Citizens Center and served as a precinct committeeman for the Vermillion Co. Democrat Party.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren Tom Gibbons; granddaughter, Donna Ann Gibbons and siblings; Owen Hutson, Gladys, Green, Mary, Alvie Hutson, Lawrence, Ralph and Harold Hutson.

She is survived by three sons; Don and Sharon Gibbons, Jerry Gibbons and Greg and Dorothy Gibbons and a daughter, Debra Taylor; nine grandchildren; Donnie Wayne Gibbons, Krista, Monica, Matt and, Mason Gibbons, Josh and Carrie Magill, Tommy Gibbons and David Magill; 12 great-grandchildren; Sedric, Jager, Alexzander, Katie, Sadie, Trever, Kaitlin, Isaac, Harley, Macy, Hailey and Dakota. Also, a special best friend, Myrtle Carpenter. Also surving is Sherry Zimmerman whom she loved like a daughter.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Frist Funeral Home. Service will be on Monday at 2 p.m. at the St. Bernice Nazarene Church with the Rev. Garrett Lee officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at: www.fristfuneralhome.com
