TERRE HAUTE —
The Terre Town Neighborhood Association is meeting Thursday night to discuss – among other things – water quality in the north-side neighborhood.
Gail Phillips, president of the association, said the meeting will address a number of topics of interest to the neighborhood, including water quality.
Although Terre Town is within the Terre Haute city limits, about half of the residents of the neighborhood get their water from wells.
Terre Town has been working with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management regarding concerns residents have about their well water quality. Phillips said two wells have recently been tested for volatile organic compounds and results are expected in about a week.
The neighborhood association is meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Terre Town Elementary School media center.
