CLINTON —
Two Vermillion County men were arrested Thursday afternoon, a day after they are alleged to have bought Methadone from an undercover state police officer, according to an Indiana State Police news release.
Perry Wayne Hollowell II and Michael R. Murphy II, both 32 and both from Clinton, face one count each of possession of a controlled substance, a class-D felony. Both also were being held in Vermillion County Jail on $10,000 bond.
Police allege that at just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, Hollowell and Murphy bought 20 Methadone pills for $140 during an undercover drug operation being conducted in Clinton.
Hollowell was arrested without incident at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at his place of employment in Terre Haute, and Murphy was arrested without incident at 3:44 p.m. at his parents’ home in Clinton. The pair was arrested by ISP Sgt. Joe Rutledge and troopers Jason Owen, Ty Lightle and Tim Rader.
Hollowell is the son of Clinton city police chief Perry Hollowell and he is a Clinton city police reserve officer.
