Garrard captured Monday in Brazil

BRAZIL, Ind. — — Indiana State Police troopers on Monday arrested Brian Keith Garrard, 34, of Bloomingdale according to a release from ISP. He was wanted on a charge of criminal recklessness with serious bodily injury, a  class-D felony, in Parke County, and felony burglary in Douglas County, Ill.

Acting on a Wabash Valley Crime Stoppers tip called into the Indiana State Police, troopers along with officers from the Brazil Police Department went to the 500 block of North Vandalia Street in Brazil, to search for Garrard, the release states. The address was the home of Brian Garrard’s mother.

Garrard was located hiding in a rear storage room of the residence and taken into custody without incident. He was incarcerated in the Clay County jail. A family friend was at the home, but not Garrard’s mother, ISP said.

There is no bond on the Parke County warrant and $50,000 bond on the Douglas County, Ill., warrant.
