A Sullivan man died Monday in a motorcycle accident near the town of Merom in western Sullivan County.
Richard A. Skinner, 58, of Sullivan, died from head injuries he received in the accident, according to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department.
According to police, Skinner and a friend were traveling west about 1 p.m. Monday near County Road 775 West and Indiana 58 when Skinner reportedly failed to negotiate a curve. His motorcycle went down in a lawn, he was ejected from the motorcycle and struck his head on a tree stump, according to police.
Skinner, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronou nced dead at the scene by the Sullivan County Coroner’s Office, according to police.
